Mowing before the lake returns - August 2025
For those of you who have questions on what to do with the area in front of your property before the lake refills, Crystal Starkey and Terry Kram have spoken to Art Peters, Dave Kepler, Bill Gebo, and Mark Kuehl on what the lake residents can do to the area in front of their property. Please see the statement below and let us know if you have any questions.
"Ultimately the 40’ in front of your property is the property owner's responsibility. The agreement with the mower is that he is responsible from the 40’ mark to the center of the lake. Since the actual 40’ line is somewhat vague, the vendor has historically erred on the side of encroaching into the 40’ boundary. Therefore, it is possible that the contractor may mow some of the property owners' 40' zone in front of their property but he is not required to do so. If property owners want to be sure that the area in front of their property is cut, it would be best for the property owner to take care of it themselves either by cutting it themselves or contracting with someone. As a caution, if you decide to cut it yourself, this can be challenging work that should only be performed if you feel you can do it safely. If you are able, please help out neighbors unable to take care of the bottom land adjacent to their property."

Membership Picnic/Meeting - June 2025
Thank You to everyone who joined us for our Annual Membership meeting. We had a nice turnout and members were able to enjoy the time together and vote on board positions for the next term. Some members reported being unable to attend due to weekend conflicts so we will hold next spring's meeting on a week night. A BIG thanks to Terry Ruggles for donating an aluminum roll-in dock for the boat launch at the beach! You ROCK Terry!
Thanks also, to our great volunteers offering to mow the beach and park! You can sign up to mow here.

The Michigan Supreme Court ruling has paved the way for construction to continue on all the dams! With Sanford Lake expected to be filled next spring, our association will be focused on preparations for the return of the lake! Volunteers to help with cleanup and preparation can help at this exciting time! Contact anyone on the board to see how you can help.

Erosion control on Anna Lane and Beach Lot planning update - November 2024
The Board recently purchased and planted ten Dogwood plants on the Anna Ln access lot. The variety is known for creating hardy, bushy plants with root systems that do well at the water line and protect against erosion. We want these and previous erosion control plantings to grow well in preparation for the lake returning.
Consultation with a contractor surveying the beach (boat launch) indicates it is in better shape than expected. However, volunteers may still be needed to do some leveling this spring. We might seek volunteers, especially residents planning to use the boat launch when the lakes return.
